A former four-room schoolhouse in Woonsocket, the property was abandoned for some twenty years. The work to revitalize the building into an active Children’s Center was funded through Federal and State Historic Tax Credits.
The preservation re-use of this building in the heart of an inner-city neighborhood was recognized by Grow Smart Rhode Island.
An addition was designed to satisfy both State and Federal historic regulatory agencies. Custom wood panel fire doors were provided to meet safety and historic requirements.
The restoration design received an award from the Rhode Island Historic Preservation Commission as well as an award from Preserve Rhode Island.
Pariseault Builders was the contractor for the project.
